La Torre Milenium

"La ciencia es la herramienta usada por el hombre para demostrar que Dios no es más que la justificacion de lo que no se comprende"

La torre Milenium es una construcción que se pretende realizar en la proxima década en la ciudad de Hong Kong. La razón es que la población asiática esta aumentando continuamente y dentro de 10 años ya no existira un metro cuadrado para realizar alguna construcción.

En esta década, un grupo de arquitectos tienen la idea de crear la torre más grande en la historia de la humanidad, la cual contara con 90 pisos y medira 800 metros de altura. El costo aproximado sera de diez mil millones de dólares. Dentro de la torre se encontraran escuelas, centros comerciales, bancos, restaurantes, hospitales, etc. Todo para hacer una nueva ciudad sobre el agua ya que sus cimientos partiran del fondo del mar.

Este documental se me hizo muy interesante ahora que lo vimos en clase de yaya =) y quise buscar más información sobre este importante desafío del hombre por alcanzar cada día más el cielo.

1) What do you think is the most important thing you learned through this WebQuest?

I learned many important things about the crimes and the math methods used in the investigations. But I consider the most important The Newton’s Law because it was the main formula or method in our project. In my opinion, the pages and all the resources that I found in the course were interesting and important for us because we learned new things about this topic.



2) Would you recommend the use of a WebQuest to learn Mathematics or some other Science subject?

Yes I recommend this kind of learning because is easier to understand the procedures than a questionnaire or a large lecture.

Mariposa

Este día me puse a pintar mi cuadro de mariposa que es el de la fotografía... Y me gustó como esta quedando =).

Aqui puse estas frases para reflexionar un poco... espero que les guste...

El motivo de estas frases es que ando un poco inspirada y triste (mejor dicho desilucionada) con algunas cosas... pero estoy feliz por más motivos =)

Esta semana en verdad que estuvo muy estresante ya que, con las vacaciones, nos mal acostumbramos a tanto descanzo. Y pss el primer examen que tuvimos fue Física =S y sin comentarios, solo me queda ir juntando dinero para el verano jajaja ya que no veo muchas posibilidades de pasar... pero como dice un dicho "la esperanza muere al último".

Pero así como tuvimos malas noticias hubo otra muy buena que fue que obtuvimos, la gran mayoría, los 30 puntos del CENEVAL =)

Respecto a la frase...

Sigue aunque tengas que utilizar el bastón... Pero NUNCA te des por vencido.

Trata hasta que logres tu objetivo que no hay nada peor en esta vida que ser vencido...

El asesinato de Eprain

Semana Santa =)

Esta Semana Santa me la he pasado muy bien en compañía de mi familia y amigos. Hace rato llegué de San Carlos (donde me divertí y me queme mucho) y decidí escribir este blog porque considero este día muy importante para todas las personas que creemos en Dios.

Así que buscando en unas páginas de internet, encontre esta frase...

Creo en el sol...incluso cuando no brilla;

creo en Dios...incluso cuando no habla.

En cuanto a nuestro proyecto final, nos gustó mucho ya que todos cooperamos en los diálogos y en la realización de este. Además de que recibimos mucha ayuda de personas externas al Tec (amigos de Yvette) los cuales fueron de mucha importancia dentro de la trama.

Espero que sus vacaciones sean muy buenas...

Descanzen porque ya mero entramos =)

Murder We Wrote

"Nadie sabe de lo que es capaz de hacer, hasta que trata de hacerlo".

Esta semana Yvette, Chapira Rafita y Yo nos reunimos para terminar de planear nuestra película acerca del asesinato de un doctor. Me gustó mucho la trama y esperemos que salga como lo hemos planeado =)

Mañana después de hacer el TOEFEL, que espero también obtener el puntuaje, realizaremos las grabaciones de nuestra película. ¡Ojala que la fecha de entrega se posponga hasta después de Semana Santa!! ya que solo tendríamos una semana para aserlo =S.

Respecto a la Frase...

Muchas veces, creemos que no somos capazes de realizar u obtener algo deseado hasta que un día lo decidimos hacer y nos damos cuenta que si ponemos, mucho esfuerzo y empeño TODO PODEMOS LOGRAR. "Impossible is Nothing"·

CENEVAL

Esta semana y la pasada estuvo llena de estrés primero por los exámenes y luego por el CENEVAL. Por esta razón, en todas las clases nos la pasamos viendo repasos, estudiando y recordando todo lo que "aprendimos" en primaria y secundaria.

El jueves 15 de Marzo (un día antes del examen) fue cumple de mi amiga Gisell y, a pesar de que no pudimos festejar en grande, nos divertimos mucho en la comida y en su casa. El viernes por la mañana, antes de empezar el examen, me sentía muy nerviosa porque nos avisaron que no podríamos sacar calculadora ni formularios pero cuando no los entregaron me di cuenta que no estaba tan complicado como lo imaginaba y que algunas preguntas podian ser resueltas con la lógica.

¡¡¡Espero haber pasado con ese puntuaje!!!

Respecto a la frase, considero que es 100% creíble ya que solo las personas sabias e inteligentes observan los errores que otros cometieron para ellos no caer en lo mismo.

Porfin acabó la semana de examenes y la tranquilidad regresa de nuevo =) Aunque no del todo ya que tenemos que estudiar para el examen ceneval. Pero ya falta muy poco para las vacaciones de Semana Santa las cuales nos serviran de descanzo y para retomar nuestras fuerzas.

Respecto a la frase... pienso que es muy cierto el mensaje que deja ya que si no nos arriesgamos, nunca tendremos algo. Es verdad que el primer paso es el más díficil, pero si lo construimos con buenas bases lograremos tener el éxito...

Week 7: "Newton's Law of Cooling"

1. What is the Newton’s Law of Cooling?
The Newton’s law of cooling is when in an experiment the surface temperature of an object changes at a rate of its relative temperature. It is known like the difference between its temperature and the temperature of the surrounding environment.

2. What variables in your problem correspond with the variables in the Newton’s Law of Cooling?
*The environment temperature
*The Corpse temperature

3. According to this Law, at what time approximately the death happened?
*According with our investigations and the answer of the problem, the death happened some minutes before the body was founded.

4. How does the room temperature affect the time of death?
The room temperature affects the time because it changes the body’s temperature. Another important point is that the environment temperature will be never hotter than body and after hours (day) the body temperature will be colder than initial.

5. How does an illness (e.g. fever) affect the time of death?
If affect because the temperature of your body change when you are sick. So if the person was sick, he didn’t have a normal temperature.

6. How exact is the approximation of the Newton’s Law of Cooling for predicting the time of death?
I think that this method is very exact because when we resolve the previous exercises the time of the death that we got was almost the same of correct answer. It has a big percentage of the exact time. .

5. What factors are considered in Algor Mortis?
1. The "size" of the body because if it is too big, it loses heat slowly.
2. “Clothing and coverings” because the body can lose the heat by radiation, convection and evaporation.
3. Movement and humidity of the air.
4. Immersion in water.

6. How does the environment affect the time of death?
It is because many elements that are in the environment like water, air, temperature, insects, etc. produce that the body lose the heat fast or slow.

7. What can you tell about the different methods of temperature reading of the body? Do they make a difference in the results?
The methods for read the temperature are the abdominal and the rectum (it is used if the body wasn’t violated). And with these methods, we can compare the temperature of the body with the environment and know the factor that modified the results.

Quinta Semana

"El gran secreto del éxito es estar preparado cuando llega la oportunidad"

PROFESOR LUIS HUGUET

Esta quinta semana hubo mucho estrés y horas invertidas al estudio debido a los exámenes del primer parcial.

Además nos llevamos muchas sorpresas al saber las calificaciones ya que en algunas materias esperábamos un promedio más alto; por ejemplo en física.

Este parcial me ayudó a conocer las características de cada materia (su contenido, enfoque y evaluación) y para darme cuenta que para el segundo parcial, tengo que ponerle muchas más ganas y mejorar mi promedio.

Respecto a la frase...

Siempre tienes que estar muy despierto y al pendiente de todas las cosas que suceden a tu alrededor para saber cuando llega la oportunidad y aprovecharla al máximo.

Final Project

En esta semana numero cuatro, hemos vivido de nuevo el estrés que provocan los exámenes parciales, pero lo bueno es que tendremos tres días para “descansar” o mejor dicho para terminar con los trabajos y estudiar Calculo.

Puse esta “frase de la semana” ya que el sábado pasado llevé a mis primitos al parque infantil y en un letrero que estaba pegado en la pared, venían muchas frases que te dejaban pensando. Así que busque en Internet y encontré el nombre del autor.
Me parece un pensamiento muy verdadero ya que muchas veces cometemos o tomamos ideas muy a la ligera y creemos que las consecuencias serán pequeñas pero no es así. Un ejemplo es buscar carrera, tienes casi toda tu preparatoria y nunca te preocupas para buscar una profesión que sea de tu agrado, pero en sexto semestre te das cuenta que el tiempo se esta acabando y tu ni siquiera has presentado el examen de admisión para esa universidad.

1. What is forensic science?
It is the science use to determine how a murder or death happened examining the death body with some technology.
Forensic scientists analyze evidence using science, math, and problem solving methods involving complex instruments and techniques.

2. What kind of evidence can be collected in a murder case?
Corporal Evidence: DNA, type of blood, fingerprints, etc.
Environment Evidence: dust, insects, etc.
Anamnestic Evidence: the clues or the testimonies.

3. Why is important to determine the time of death?
First, because we can know the hour or day that the person was killed. Second for know who the murder was through questions. Also is important because we understand many questions about the crime.

We think that the main goal of this project is to learn the application of calculus and science in the crimes. Also we think that we have to do the video in order to practice all the knowledge of these.

Hello! My name is Clarissa Rodriguez Dominguez. I was born in Obregon City, on June 06th.

Actually, I study my high school in Tec and this semester is the last one. My hobbies are live together with my family and friends. Also wath tv and listen music.

My principal goals are finish my studies and select good career. I want to study LCQ (Licenciada en Ciencias Quimicas) because I love chemestry since I was a child, the reason I don't know.

In calculus, I hope to get good grades and practice all the topics for understand them. This week, we learned about the antiderivatives and the marginal cost, revenue, etc.

I have a problem with some last topics that I need to practice more.
